beautiful_brideShopping for a wedding dress is fun and exciting, but it can also be a source of major stress. The following tips will guide you in choosing the best bridal gown for your needs.

1. Start reading wedding blogs and bridal magazines so that you can become familiar with the basics of wedding dress design and options.

2. Decide on the best color for you. Traditionally, brides used to wear pure white dresses, but these days you have are more options. Certainly consider off-white, ivory or other shades that are not pure white if those will better complement your skin tone.

3. Decide on a the dress’s design. Do you want a simple wedding dress or a fancy one? Which shape will suit your body the most? A tight bodice and a full skirt generally flatters all body shapes, while a narrower silhouette could be a problem if you have a rounded tummy or large thighs. You should also decide if you want strapless, sleeveless or a dress with sleeves.

4. Decide on a budget. This is really important, because a wedding gown is the type of purchase where you can easily spend more than you planned. Decide on a realistic budget and then stick with it.

Most importantly: buy a dress you feel comfortable in. A wedding dress will never be as comfortable as sweats, of course, but you should buy a dress that makes you feel good about yourself, and that enables you to move and breathe freely. You want to enjoy your wedding day, not suffer through it!
